Yes, it can be that bad. What happens when you get everybody into church, face them forward towards screens and a band (or a choir, or an organ, or an alter - whatever) and then sing songs about being "in love with Jesus"? Incidentally, church is the only place that this whole facing-forward-and-singing happens anyway, but are we really singing what we mean?
